Thanks A Million! West Michigan

Thanks a Million! is an organization I started to provide temporary solutions to food insecurity. Our stated goal is to distribute one million pounds of food to those in need across West Michigan. Our actual goal is to make our different volunteer groups aware of the desperate need currently in West Michigan. It is our hope, that we will be able to plant seeds that will cause theses communities to take a proactive approach to addressing the need in their own communities. We can debate the role of government in society, but there is no debate on what we are called to do as Christians and good citizens.
For those of us who call ourselves fiscal conservatives, I believe we have an even greater obligation to serve those in need. If we, as conservatives, make the statement “since the war on poverty began, the government has failed to eliminate, or even reduce poverty.” If we say as conservatives that poverty is better addressed by neighbors and churches, than it is by government, then, what are we doing to address it? We are the neighbors and we are the church. Thanks a Million! West Michigan is giving thousands of people the opportunity to address the poverty in their communities that might have otherwise gone unseen.
In many cases, our mission to provide temporary food security has inspired communities to start their own mobile food pantries. ustainable development and lasting change in our communities is a real, tangible goal that we can achieve with intelligent, innovative solutions.
I encourage you to learn more about this great cause at
